Hello, my name is Julie Grimes. I am a visual development artist for animation as well as a painter. I have a great love for animation and cartoons. Growing up, watching cartoons was one of my favorite way to spend my free time—and still is!
I have a BFA from East Carolina University College of Art and Design. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been transitioning from fine artist to an artist for animation. I’m currently in a mentorship with Nash Dunnigan to further hone my skills, beef up my portfolio and gain insight into the animation industry.
This year I have also decided to take the plunge in opening my own online store for selling my plein air paintings and other traditional works. I am also the owner of Julie Grimes’s Daily Painting Blog. I love sharing my paintings with the world and having a space to see my progress over time.
In my free time, I love to watch movies and TV shows, playing video games, listening to music, reading books, petting my cats, and traveling as much as I can!
